Feller took first place, 13/100 ahead of surprising Greek AJ Ginnis and returning Norwegian Lucas Braathen.

Silver medalist in the discipline at the 2017 Worlds in Saint-Moritz (Switzerland), Feller had been disqualified in the giant on the Eclipse, the Courchevel track, a few days ago.

Starting in 24th position, Ginnis placed just behind, in the wake of his historic second place in the Chamonix World Cup slalom.

Operated following an appendicitis just before the start of the Worlds, Braathen managed the same time.

Further on, Noël, eagerly awaited by the French public, finished at 64/100.

The Vosgien is still in the running for a medal, which is almost a feat since he almost fell after a fault, before recovering thanks to a balancing act.

"I skied carefully at the top, then I skied pretty well, he commented after his run. I made a big mistake (...) which cost me four tenths. If they had been taken away from me, It would have really put me in the game, so I'm a little disappointed with that."

"To get the podium, I'm going to have to pull out a very big run," he concluded.

If he managed to get on the podium at the end of the second round, which will start at 1:30 p.m., Noël would bring a third medal to the French team, after those obtained by Alexis Pinturault.

"Pintu" finished the first run in eleventh position, at 72/100, in one of his last slaloms.

The young Steven Amiez, who started in 36th position, had a good run, qualifying thanks to the 18th time, just one second behind Feller.

On the other hand, Léo Anguenot, 34th, failed to qualify.
