The people were said to have been alive when they were rescued, but one of them later died in hospital, local media reports.

Throughout the week, rescue workers have managed to find people who miraculously survived, despite being stuck under the masses of race in cold weather conditions for so long, but the number has dwindled to a handful in recent days.

In total, over 44,000 people have been confirmed dead after the earthquake, according to official figures, roughly 40,600 of them are in Turkey.
