China News Service, February 18 (Xinhua) According to Yonhap News Agency, the Seoul Central District Court of South Korea sent the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office on the 17th a request for consent to the arrest of Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the largest opposition party, the Common Democratic Party.

As a result, the National Assembly officially started the process of approving the arrest of Lee Jae-myung.

According to reports, according to the procedure, the petition will be submitted to the National Assembly after being approved by the Supreme Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Justice and the President.

The Speaker of the National Assembly shall report this at the plenary meeting convened after receiving the letter of request, and the plenary meeting of the National Assembly shall vote within 72 hours after reporting the request.

It is predicted that the National Assembly will discuss the consent case of Lee Jae-myung's arrest at the plenary session on the 24th and vote on the 27th.

If more than half of the current members of parliament attend the meeting, and more than half of them vote in favor, the arrest agreement can be passed.

However, many points of view pointed out that considering that the Democratic Party occupies more than half of the seats in the Congress with 169 seats, it is unlikely that the Lee Jae-myung arrest agreement will be passed.

The prosecution had requested the court to approve the arrest of Li Zaiming the day before, accusing Li Zaiming of dereliction of duty and violating the anti-corruption law for the consolation and Dazhuangdong new city construction projects.

The prosecution accused Lee Jae-myung of accepting bribes in the sponsorship case of Seongnam Football Club (Seongnam FC).

Previously, Li Zaiming came to the case as a criminal suspect on January 28. After being subpoenaed by the prosecution for the condolence Xincheng and Dazhuangdong real estate fraud cases, he felt that the prosecution was not handling the case, but "engaging in politics."

Prosecutors are not conducting investigations to find out the truth, but fabricating facts for the purpose of prosecution.
