Syrian TV and media loyal to the Syrian regime reported that 53 people were killed in the Al-Sukhnah area in rural Homs, as a result of an attack by ISIS operatives.

According to these means, the victims were in the desert of Al-Sukhna collecting truffles, and that the elements of the organization shot them from close distances.

The Syrian News Agency stated that the militants of the "Islamic State" organization targeted civilians with machine guns for a long time and intensively, which led to a large number of deaths.

In April 2019, the organization kidnapped at least 19 people, most of them civilians, while they were collecting truffles in the desert of central Syria.

Despite losing most of its strongholds in Syria, ISIS has intensified its attacks on the Syrian regime forces in the Badia in the past months.
