The aircraft took off from Arlanda around 15.30, but was forced to make an emergency landing about 20 minutes later after some sort of warning alarm was triggered on board.

During the afternoon, the rescue service was called to Arlanda due to the incident.

- We have received an alarm to Arlanda about a plane with overheated brakes, says Henrik Ynnesjö at the rescue service, without stating which plane it is.

According to Aftonbladet's information, the government plane was on its way to Munich, Germany, where the Munich Security Conference is taking place.

Sixteen people were on board the plane, and one of the passengers was Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, reports Sweden's Radio Ekot.

Vague information

The Government Office's press service tells Aftonbladet that it does not answer questions regarding the state flight and refers to the Armed Forces, which in turn refers back to the Government Office.

- I have no information about the government plane at all, you can talk to the Government Office, says a person at the press service.

Swedavia also refers to the Swedish Armed Forces.

- We can confirm that it is a plane that has landed and it was a normal landing.

Regarding other questions, we refer to the Armed Forces, says Swedavia's press spokesperson Ellen Laurin to Aftonbladet.

SVT Nyheter seeks the Prime Minister for a comment.
