A new and luxury building, with aerothermal energy and solar panels, is completely squatted in the central street of Ciriaco García García in Majadahonda.

Its 11 floors and two penthouses have been usurped by young criminals who

steal and deal to the misfortune of nearby residents.

The neighbors have already dubbed it the "cursed" building.

They assure that they are threatened: «

They are not squatters, they are bad people and nobody can beat them», says a tenant of a nearby block.

The Municipal Police and the Civil Guard try to control the situation and maintain a device in the area to prevent crimes.

The agents have arrested several of the squatters for robberies with violence in local establishments.

Several of those arrested have up to 20 police records.

At least two of them are already in prison due to the repetition of their misdeeds.

The rest continue with their crimes.

They wear designer clothes, carry state-of-the-art phones and buy food at home almost daily.

In just one week, several of these squatters have committed 15 assaults on commercial premises in Majadahonda, according to police sources.

"There is one who has given four blows in a single night," explains one of the agents.

"They are only looking for the money from the cash register, so

the merchants already leave some money in cash to prevent them from destroying the premises in search of objects or tickets

," continues the same agent.

Most of the squatters are young North Africans.

Some confess that they have been residing in reception centers and that they have come to the building after being warned by other ex-menas.

The squatted building is

a brand new apartment block completed in the middle of last year.

These are flats that can cost between 450,000 and 600,000 euros, with a garage space included.

Due to a bureaucratic problem, the promoter could not register the property.

This builder decided to hire a North African man to act as a watchman and prevent his squatting.

He left him a flat for him and also paid him about 800 euros.

However, this man opted for the opposite, and

sold the apartments to squatters in exchange for amounts ranging between 500 and 1,000 with free water and electricity,

albeit

with the elevator disabled.

That caused the floors to be occupied by very dangerous young people.

“They are very troublesome people.

Let's hope that as we arrest them they end up in prison," confesses one of the agents.

This same week, the owner of the building hired an vacancy company to try to evict the squatters.

They were greeted with stones and with the throwing of objects from the windows.

They have tried to position themselves at the door to coerce and intimidate the squatters, but they have not been able to.

According to the Police, a squatting family with a minor has recently settled in the block and in fact you can see a baby carriage on one of the terraces.

Very few residents dare to show their faces for fear of reprisals.

"The worst thing is not that they steal, the worst thing is that they insult you and threaten you with gestures that they will kill you if you betray them," says a woman.

They also report that

they urinate in public spaces and break street furniture.

"When they fight drunk, it's the best thing that can happen to us, since then they go home to sleep it off."

The mayor of Majadahonda, José Luis Ustarroz

, recently assured that "the building had been illegally squatted by some vandals and that the Consistory has limited powers in this case."

He added that the police presence in the area was reinforced and the cleaning of the entire neighborhood was also intensified "so that they disturb the neighbors as little as possible."

In addition, he criticized the Sánchez Executive, "which, supported by some government partners, defends the squatters and defends this type of illegal and uncomfortable actions for all the neighbors."

The Police and the Civil Guard

are not aware that the promoter has initiated legal proceedings for the eviction of the squatters.

This newspaper has unsuccessfully tried to find out the promoter's version of what happened.
