Fredrik Karlsson was for many years an artist profile in Malmö.

In 1998, he participated in Melodifestivalen with a song written together with Cardigan's Peter Svensson.

He received the epithet "Dandyn from Arlöv" for his conscious style of clothing.

In the last years he lived together with Magdalena Zryd-Carlsson.

Lying unconscious in the bathroom

One morning in October, she found Fredrik Karlsson in the bathroom of the home outside Sjöbo.

He lay unconscious in the nearly empty bathtub.

She called SOS Alarm, who said that an ambulance was on its way from Sjöbo, a few minutes away.

But no ambulance came.

The picture of Fredrik Karlsson was taken a few weeks before he died in October 2022.

- No one called, no one said anything.

But I called in a panic, after maybe ten minutes.

Then Magdalena was informed that the ambulance was on its way from Ystad, almost four miles away.

She was asked to sit in the bakery and give Fredrik heart compressions.

She did as the emergency operator said, but she later realized that it is impossible to perform HRL in a bathtub.

When the ambulance finally arrived, Fredrik's heart had stopped.

After many attempts, the paramedics got the heart going.

But at the hospital, the decision was later made to turn off the ventilator.

- The brain was so damaged due to the lack of oxygen.

"Admitted wrong"

Magdalena has now hired a lawyer and reported SOS Alarm to the police and made a report to IVO, the Inspectorate for Care and Care.

SOS Alarm does not want to comment on the case during the investigation, but according to Magdalena, they have subsequently admitted that they made a mistake and told how the alarm operator should have acted.

- Instead of just sitting and waiting, they should have called the emergency services, which would have been on the scene much faster.

They could have given him CPR and taken him out of the tub.

It could have saved his life, says Magdalena Zryd-Carlsson.
