“The law provides for a comprehensive adjustment of the norms of the electoral code, taking into account the updated constitution and law enforcement practice,” the press service of the head of state said in a statement.

The law optimizes the system of election commissions, provides for the introduction of additional requirements for candidates for deputies, including a ban on having citizenship of a foreign state.

The amendments also abolish the voter turnout threshold for recognition as valid elections to the House of Representatives.

The time of early voting has also been changed.
