Joe Biden, 80, completed his routine medical exams today, Thursday, in a decisive step for the oldest president ever elected in the United States, who "intends" to run for a second term in 2024.

And the White House announced in a statement distributed to the press that it would publish during the day the "written report" of the results of these medical examinations.

On Thursday morning, the US President went to Walter Reed Military Hospital in the suburbs of Washington to conduct the latest medical examinations for this evaluation.

The document will certainly arouse more interest than its predecessor, which dates back to November 2021.

Biden repeats, although the results of opinion polls are not in his favor, that he "intends" to run, and thus may compete with his predecessor, Donald Trump, who officially announced his running for the White House.

But he confirmed just days ago that he had not made a "final" decision yet.

And the Democratic president, who, through this transparency about his health, is keen to distinguish himself from his Republican predecessor, underwent a full examination on November 19, 2021.

That day, Joe Biden underwent a colonoscopy under general anesthesia.

He transferred his powers for an hour and 25 minutes to Vice President Kamala Harris, who briefly became the first woman to have presidential powers in the history of the United States.

Doctor Kevin O'Connor confirmed that he was a "healthy" man, "strong" and "capable" for his heavy duties.

But he also mentioned the effect of aging, the amount of medication to be taken and minor illnesses.

At the time, the same doctor had noticed a greater stiffness in Joe Biden's gait, which he attributed to a "mild" nerve condition affecting his feet.

He also reported a recurrent cough caused by gastroesophageal reflux.

Joe Biden does not smoke, does not drink alcohol, does not exercise, and has not had any major health problems since he underwent brain surgery in 1988. He contracted Covid-19 last July without suffering serious symptoms.

So far, the US president has demonstrated extraordinary stamina for his age, through successive speeches and travels.

But his advanced age is one of the themes of repeated attacks by the Republican opposition.

Even some of the president's opponents asserted that he was no longer sane due to some moments of confusion and slurred speech.

And in the event that he runs for a new presidential term, Joe Biden will have to endure the harsh election campaign and the requirements of his presidential work.

And yet, he answers questions about his age with jokes.

"You should see me in action!" he says.
