The German Society for Gastroenterology said that pain in the lower right part of the abdomen has several causes, on top of which are chronic bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.

The association explained that pain in the lower right part of the abdomen may be due to reasons classified as medical emergencies, such as appendicitis, and here the pain appears in the form of contractions and the abdomen is sensitive to pressure.

The causes include intestinal obstruction, and here the pain appears in the form of severe tingling with a feeling of nausea and vomiting.

The causes of pain in the lower right part of the abdomen also lie in biliary colic and hernia, in addition to causes such as prostatitis in men, endometriosis and polycystic ovaries in women.

If the pain in the lower right part of the abdomen recurs or persists, this may indicate the presence of a tumor, after excluding other causes.

In any case, a doctor should be consulted to determine the true underlying cause of pain in the lower right part of the abdomen and treat it in a timely manner.
