Zakharova called the goal of the US and the EU the accession of Serbia to the sanctions regime against Russia

This is stated on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry. 

“Their (US and EU. -

) real goal is not to“ stabilize ”the region, but to break the political will of the Serbian leadership and, first of all, force it to join the sanctions regime against Russia,” Zakharova emphasized.

The Foreign Ministry noted that Russia understands what efforts Serbia needs to continue to cooperate with Russia under pressure from the EU and the United States.

Zakharova stressed that the West is "going out of its way" to get Belgrade to join the anti-Russian sanctions.

Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic could not say how much longer Belgrade would be able to withstand without imposing anti-Russian sanctions, but said that the country would try to survive as long as possible.

The press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, said that the Kremlin is well aware of the pressure Western countries are exerting on Serbia to join the anti-Russian sanctions.
