China News Service, February 13th. The Information Office of the Supreme People's Procuratorate organized an online interview with the Director of the Supreme People's Procuratorate on the 13th. 1,208 cases of bribery and 1,704 people were prosecuted, and the non-prosecution rate has continued to decline since 2018.

"Persisting in the investigation of both accepting and offering bribes" is an important decision-making arrangement made by the Party Central Committee. How does the procuratorial department of duty-related crimes promote this decision-making arrangement in depth and solidity?

What results have been achieved?

Regarding the above-mentioned issues, Shi Weizhong pointed out that the crime of giving bribes is an important incentive for the crime of accepting bribes, and the trend of "hunting" and corruption continues, and it is difficult to effectively curb the increase in corruption.

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China further emphasized "fighting corruption and punishing evil with a zero-tolerance attitude, more effectively curbing the increase, and more effectively clearing the stock" and "persisting in investigating both bribery and bribery."

The procuratorial organs have resolutely implemented the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee, and while maintaining the high-pressure situation of punishing bribery, they have accurately and forcefully punished bribery crimes in accordance with the law.

The first is to strictly prosecute bribery crimes, especially bribery crimes involving repeated bribery, huge bribes, bribery to multiple people, and "hunting" and corrupting party members and cadres in key areas such as organizational personnel, production safety, education and medical care.

From January to November 2022, procuratorial organs across the country prosecuted 1,208 bribery crimes and 1,704 people, and the non-prosecution rate has continued to decline since 2018.

The second is to jointly compile typical cases of bribery crimes.

In April 2022, the National Supervisory Commission and the Supreme People's Procuratorate jointly released five typical cases of bribery crimes for the first time, guiding supervisory agencies and procuratorial agencies at all levels to accurately apply laws and policies in handling bribery cases, and strengthen work connection and cooperation; Anhui, Hunan, etc. Provincial procuratorates and Chengdu procuratorates will also jointly release typical cases of bribery crimes with the supervisory committee, forming a multi-level joint effort to punish bribery crimes.

Third, the Supreme People's Procuratorate issued the "Guiding Opinions on Strengthening the Handling of Bribery Crime Cases" on December 9, 2022, "International Anti-Corruption Day", to further provide standards for procuratorial organs at all levels to strictly punish bribery and improve the quality and efficiency of handling cases based on their functions Guidance, demonstrating the firm determination to "contain the source" and "stop the flow".

The fourth is to resolutely pursue the illegitimate benefits obtained from bribery.

During the handling of the case, it was found that many bribers are willing to "spend a lot of money" because they can obtain greater benefits through bribery. After the briber "gets his wish", it will intensify, forming a vicious circle, and the transfer of huge amounts of benefits will cause major losses to national interests.

In this regard, the procuratorate attaches great importance to the recovery of illegitimate benefits obtained from bribery in handling bribery cases, clarifies the recovery mechanism, and actively carries out the work of recovering stolen goods and recovering losses.

For example, in the Jiangxi Wang XX bribery case, through the cooperation and cooperation of the supervisory and procuratorial organs, 215 million yuan of state-owned asset losses were recovered.
