According to the latest official reports, the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6 killed more than 35,000 people.

In detail, there are 31,643 dead in southern Turkey and 3,581 dead in Syria.

The UN said on Sunday that the toll could still "double". 

The toll of the violent earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6 rose to 35,225 dead on Monday morning, according to the latest official reports.

The 7.8 magnitude earthquake killed 31,643 people in southern Turkey, Afad, Turkey's public disaster management body, said on Monday, while authorities counted 3,581 dead in Syria.

The UN said on Sunday that the toll could still "double".
