Al-Jazeera correspondent said that clashes broke out between Palestinian youths and the Israeli occupation forces today, Monday, in occupied Jerusalem.

This comes while the occupation army launched raids on resistance sites in Gaza and killed a Palestinian youth in Nablus in the West Bank.

The correspondent added that the clashes erupted after the occupation forces began demolishing two houses in the town of Jabal Al-Mukabber in occupied Jerusalem.

Yesterday, Sunday, the occupation forces launched a large-scale operation in areas east of Jerusalem, against the backdrop of escalating acts of resistance against the occupation and its settlers.

And last Friday, the Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, threatened to carry out "Operation Defensive Shield 2" in East Jerusalem.

Gaza bombing

In a related context, the Israeli army spokesman announced the implementation of raids in the central Gaza Strip on underground sites belonging to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to produce missile materials.

Prior to that, the Al-Jazeera correspondent reported hearing several explosions in Gaza City, amid intense flight of Israeli warplanes.

Palestinian sources reported that helicopter gunships launched 8 raids on targets in the central governorate, as well as in the north of Gaza City.

He pointed out that warning sirens sounded in the town of Sderot and the western Negev bordering the Gaza Strip.

resistance response

Al-Qassam Brigades fired at the Israeli air force, according to Hazem Qassem, spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Meanwhile, the Resistance Brigades, the military wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, announced the bombing of the Gaza border settlements with missiles at dawn today.

The brigades said in a statement that this bombing comes in response to the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority broadcasted a video clip of what it said was the Iron Dome interception of missiles fired from the Gaza Strip towards the settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip, following the Israeli raids on the Strip.

A source in the Palestinian factions told Agence France-Presse that "an Egyptian intelligence official made contacts with the resistance factions and with the Israeli side to stop the escalation and calm the situation."

"The resistance will respond to any aggression, and the truce will be committed to the extent that the occupation is committed to it," he added.

A martyr in Nablus

In the West Bank, a Palestinian boy was killed and 5 others were wounded by Israeli occupation forces' fire during its incursion into Nablus at dawn today.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that the martyr was Amir Bustami.

Large military forces, accompanied by special units, entered the city and surrounded a building in Sufyan Street in the city center, where clashes took place with Palestinian resistance fighters.

Palestinian sources and eyewitnesses reported that other military forces entered the town of Jaba, south of Jenin, as well as the Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem.

For its part, the occupation army said that it was able to arrest the two Palestinian youths accused of killing an Israeli officer near the Shavei Shomron settlement in October last year.

A statement by the military spokesman stated that a joint force of the army, the Shin Bet security service and the border guards, backed by commando units, arrested the two young men, in addition to 3 other people who were with them, after armed confrontations in Nablus.

In the same context, the Israeli occupation forces arrested 6 Palestinians, including a child, in separate areas of the West Bank.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club reported that the arrests were concentrated in Tulkarem, Qalqilya, Bethlehem and Hebron, where the occupation forces raided citizens' homes and destroyed their contents, and took the detainees to detention centers for interrogation on charges of resisting the occupation.

The Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed that 10 citizens were injured during the confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces in Jabal Al Mukaber in Jerusalem.

In this context, Hazem Qassem, a spokesman for Hamas, said that the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip coincided with what he described as aggression against the cities of Nablus and Jerusalem, confirming that there is aggression against all the Palestinian people.

Qassem saluted the fighters of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, who said that they had confronted the Israeli occupation raids on the Gaza Strip, and confused the occupation army and its settlers.

Qassem added that the resistance will remain the shield and sword of the Palestinian people, and the aggression will be broken in front of the people's revolution, their steadfastness, and the resistance action, as he put it.
