“The plane with humanitarian aid on board landed at the Syrian Latakia airport around 09:00 on February 12, where it was met by the Deputy Governor of the province of Latakia, the Ambassador of Belarus to Syria and the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Aleksey Serko,” the ministry noted.

It is specified that then the delegation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the country, headed by First Deputy Minister Alexander Khudoleev, visited the places of destruction of residential buildings and got acquainted with the progress of work on dismantling building structures that collapsed as a result of the earthquake. 

On February 11, Deputy Head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, Major General Oleg Yegorov, said that the Russian military had organized the distribution of 45.9 tons of humanitarian aid to those in need after the earthquake in the SAR.
