- Those of us who do cross-country skiing are clearly worried, says Lars Öberg, head of cross-country skiing at the Swedish Ski Association.

SVT Dalarna has previously reported that rising temperatures make the Vasaloppet's track work more difficult.

According to a report from SMHI, the temperature has risen the most during the winter months - something that cross-country skiing in general also notices.

- We see that organizers are forced to use more artificial snow and saved snow, says Lars Öberg.

The Skiing Association wants to reduce the climate impact

Within the International Ski Federation, FIS, there are today decisions that deal with trying to reduce one's climate impact by, among other things, reducing travel.

- You collect several World Cup competitions in different blocks, for example a Scandinavian block, so that the participants do not have to travel so much.

In the video, Lars Öberg tells more about how he sees the future of cross-country skiing.
