The ministry said - in a brief press statement - that the young Mithqal Suleiman Abdel Halim Rayan (27 years old) was shot dead by an Israeli settler who hit him in the head, in the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan in the Salfit governorate.
The Anadolu Agency quoted eyewitnesses as saying that a group of armed settlers attacked Palestinian farmers and shepherds in the al-Ras area, northeast of Qarawat Bani Hassan, and then clashes broke out between them.
The witnesses added that one of the settlers fired directly at the Palestinians, wounding Mithqal with a bullet in the head, before he was taken to the health center in the village, and his death was announced.
