One of those who made the decision to close the leisure centers was the now voted out Ebba Östlin (S) - and the battle over the leisure centers has once again come into focus.

The security company's review from spring 2022 highlighted, among other things, that narcotics and weapons were found in connection with the recreational facilities.

Here are five points from the report - and ABF Botkyrka/Salem's response:

Employees convicted of crimes

The criticism:

In the security report it was discovered that eleven current or former employees at the leisure facilities were convicted of crimes.

Among other things, it was about assault and drug offences.

ABF Botkyrka/Salem's answer:

It concerns a maximum of seven employees who were convicted of crimes.

We check the load register and this is not visible in the type of extract that is recommended.

Incidents and police reports

The criticism:

Several incidents have neither been reported to the police nor reported to the municipality, one of which was a serious incident in which an employee at a leisure farm was approached at his workplace and beaten.

ABF's response:

The management is critical of how the assault incident was handled by the former management and urges Botkyrka Municipality to file a police report on other alleged crimes.

If this is not done, the allegations should not be included in the report either.

Bulletproof vests and criminal visitors

The criticism:

The safety report found that elderly people with a criminal lifestyle were allowed to stay inside the leisure facilities.

This creates an unsafe environment for the young visitors, they note.

ABF's answer:

People wearing protective vests may not stay inside the premises.

We ran open leisure farm operations.

Checking the background of all visitors is not possible.

Unlawful use of grants

Criticism:

Unlawful use of the grants awarded to ABF Botkyrka/Salem.

Including the purchase of expensive Christmas presents and other expensive personnel-related purchases.

ABF's answer:

All reported purchases are linked to the open leisure activities.

The "expensive Christmas presents" are paid at half the value of the Christmas present municipal employee leisure leaders received during the same year.

Unsuitable employees

The criticism:

The police have several times raised the alarm about inappropriate employees, including a person who has been convicted of a sex crime.

But no change has taken place.

ABF's response:

Management has not received information about unsuitable employees.

The exception is the employee who has been convicted of a sexual offence.

It was immediately shut down and had to stop.
