“A telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, and the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

It is noted that the parties discussed regional security, as well as issues of Russian-Armenian military and military-technical cooperation.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian peacekeepers recorded a violation of the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, called Russia a key security partner for Armenia.

At the end of January, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the situation around the Lachin corridor by telephone.
