China News Service, February 10. According to Kyodo News, the Japanese government summarized new guidelines on the 10th to leave the wearing of masks for the new crown epidemic prevention to personal judgment.
The new crown epidemic has entered its fourth year, and Japan's "Infectious Diseases Law" will be adjusted to the same "category 5" as seasonal influenza on May 8.
The basic epidemic prevention measures that have penetrated into daily life will be greatly relaxed.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida held consultations with relevant cabinet members on the afternoon of the 10th.
The "Basic Response Policy" including the rule on wearing masks was revised after consulting the government's Basic Response Policy Group Meeting composed of experts and others.
According to the new guidelines, school education activities will basically no longer require masks to be worn from April 1.
Regarding the graduation ceremony before the new guidelines are applied, it also stated that "basically, students can attend without wearing a mask."
From March 13th, in order to prevent the infection of people around you, it will continue to be recommended to wear a mask when riding on crowded trains and buses during rush hour.
However, it is allowed to take off the mask on Shinkansen and express buses where everyone can have a seat.
Wearing a mask is also recommended when visiting medical institutions and facilities for the elderly.
For those who are at higher risk of becoming seriously ill, such as the elderly, the new guidelines believe that it is effective to wear a mask when going to crowded places.
For units, it is allowed to require users and employees to wear masks.
If you or your cohabitants are infected with the new crown, you are required to avoid going out and wear a mask when you have to go out.
