Southeast Turkey and northern Syria were hit hard by a strong earthquake on Monday morning, and rescue efforts are still in full swing in the affected areas.

"An incredible stench and stress"

Katrin Kisswani, who has worked in similar disasters, gets flashbacks when she sees what is happening in Turkey and Syria to when she worked in Haiti and Nepal after strong earthquakes there.

- It is a very unpleasant experience and very special if you have never experienced it before when it shakes and swings, says Katrin Kisswani.
