In Germany, they called for an investigation into the involvement of the United States in the explosions at Nord Stream.

This was stated by the chairman of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party Tino Khrupalla on his Twitter, commenting on the publication of the Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh on this topic.

“The well-known investigative journalist Seymour Hersh said: the attack on Nord Stream was prepared and carried out by the United States.

He cites "a source with direct knowledge of operational planning".

The German government must consider these suspicions!”

Khrupalla emphasized.

Earlier, Bundestag deputy from the Left Party Sarah Wagenknecht also commented on the publication of an American journalist on her Twitter.

“While the German government vows transatlantic friendship + recklessly follows the US, the US government is blowing up Nord Stream, as evidenced by the meticulous investigation of Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh.

So whose interests does the German government really represent?

asked Wagenknecht.

Recall that on February 8, American journalist Seymour Hersh said in his article posted on the Substack media platform that the Nord Streams were mined by divers from the United States under the cover of NATO exercises BALTOPS 22, held in the Baltic Sea in June 2022.

According to the journalist, on September 26 of the same year, the Norwegian Navy activated remotely activated devices.

As Hersh noted, citing a knowledgeable source, the decision to organize sabotage on gas pipelines was made by US President Joe Biden after more than nine months of discussions on how best to organize it.

Early last year, a CIA task force reported to National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan's interagency team set up to develop a sabotage plan that they "have a way to blow up the pipelines."

Asked for comment by White House spokeswoman Adrienne Watson, Hersh writes, she said in an email that "this is a lie and a complete fabrication."

Central Intelligence Agency spokeswoman Tammy Thorpe also wrote about the "completely and completely false allegation," the journalist said.

After the appearance of Hersh's investigative material, the Russian Foreign Ministry called on the United States to respond to information about Washington's involvement in undermining Nord Stream.

At the same time, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in her Telegram channel recalled that Moscow had repeatedly voiced its position on the involvement of Washington and NATO in what had happened.

“They (the United States and the alliance.

) did not hide this, boasting to the whole world about their intention to destroy the civilian infrastructure through which Europe received Russian energy resources.

We also regularly noted the reluctance of Denmark, Germany and Sweden to conduct an open investigation and opposition to Russia's participation in it.

And this despite the fact that our country has incurred huge costs.

All these facts should now be commented on in the White House, ”Zakharova emphasized.

In turn, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov called the investigation of the American journalist "very important material" that needs to be analyzed.

“This material should provoke an acceleration of the international investigation, and we see, on the contrary, attempts to silently curtail this international investigation,” Peskov said.

According to him, ignoring Hersh's publication "would be unfair at the very least."

“Especially for a country like Germany, which, as a result of this terrorist act, was deprived of a very important energy facility,” Peskov said, stressing that “it is impossible to leave this without revealing the perpetrators and without punishing them.”

"Coffin Wall of Silence"

The Pentagon announced the alleged non-involvement of the United States in undermining the Nord Stream.

“The United States was not involved in the Nord Stream explosion,” said ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Garron Gurn.

In turn, the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, in a commentary to RIA Novosti, called the statements about the involvement of the kingdom in undermining the Nord Streams nonsense.

According to Vladimir Shapovalov, deputy director of the Institute of History and Politics of the Moscow State Pedagogical University, Vladimir Shapovalov, a situation has developed in the West in which the publication of the Hersh investigation and the call by the head of the German AfD party Khrupalla to the German government to understand the role of the United States will lead nowhere.

“Berlin will not and cannot conduct an objective investigation of the terrorist attacks allegedly carried out by the United States, since the United States is not only an ally of Germany, but practically its protector.

Demanding a fair trial from the FRG is like asking the Nevada authorities to do so to the American government.

This is an empty exercise, since German justice is not ready to conduct a process against the United States, ”the expert said in a RT comment.

In the same way, it would be naive to expect that after the publication of an article by an American journalist, Russia will finally be allowed to investigate the incidents on the Nord Stream, which Germany, Sweden and Denmark are conducting in parallel to each other, Shapovalov believes.

“In these EU countries and in the West in general, they will do everything to prevent the Russian Federation from participating in this trial.

Western countries traditionally refuse to give Moscow the opportunity to present its arguments.

There is no doubt that Russia's position will not be heard in the West.

And this testifies to the absolute absence of the principle of the rule of law, equality and all that characterizes democracy.

There is nothing like this in Western countries for a long time, ”the analyst emphasized.

"No political will"

According to Shapovalov, Western countries will try to minimize the effect of the investigation of the American journalist Hersh, and also ignore it as much as possible.

“In addition, it cannot be ruled out that Hersh is waiting for the fate of Edward Snowden or WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

All those who speak the truth in the West are subject to repression,” the expert emphasized.

A similar opinion is shared by Konstantin Blokhin, a researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to him, Western politicians will deny the terrorist attack on Nord Stream to the maximum and will try to "play the situation around the Hersh investigation."

“The Pulitzer Prize winner will be made a fool of, they will most likely declare him a Putin propagandist, they will try to put pressure on him, ridicule him.

Here the tactics are clear, ”the analyst said in a comment to RT.

Blokhin also believes that neither the Hersh article itself, nor the appeal of the head of the German AfD party will lead to the organization of a separate investigation into the US role in the Nord Stream explosions.

“This could happen in Germany if the German authorities were interested in such proceedings.

But it is already clear that Berlin does not have the political will for this, since it is following in the footsteps of Washington.

Although in fact, even without any investigations, the picture is clear and understandable who is involved in the explosions.

Everyone knows that the United States was most interested in destroying the pipelines.

But, given the consolidated position of the West to hush up the truth and the one who participated in the sabotage, an investigation into the role of the United States is not necessary not only for Germany, but also for other Western countries, ”the expert concluded.
