The area is one of 63 designated mountain forest areas that will receive long-term protection according to the agreement that Sveaskog and the Environmental Protection Agency signed this week.

So did to put a stop to it

Eight years ago, Sveaskog made a logging report for the area, which came to the attention of the Panther Aunts won the fight against logging in the Devil's Gap.

They used to stay in the area and certainly did not want it to turn into a clearcut.

Now they only had a week to stop the felling.

They took up the fight, but not as activists.

In the clip, you get to meet the panther aunts, as they call themselves, and hear about how they went about it.
