China News Agency, Beijing, February 8th (Yang Chengchen, Zhu He) After the Spring Festival of the Year of the Rabbit, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held its first press conference on the 8th.

Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, emphasized that people-to-people exchanges are expected to resume as soon as possible.

After the meeting, she specifically told reporters at the scene, "This year will be very busy."

During the nearly one-hour press conference, words such as "cross-strait exchanges" and "personnel exchanges" frequently appeared in more than 20 questions and answers.

Zhu Fenglian said: "At the beginning of the new year, everyone has seen our actions and sincerity in promoting the peaceful development of cross-strait relations."

  What are the actions?

Zhu Fenglian introduced the partial resumption of flights of the "miniature three links" and the resumption of cross-strait direct flights.

At the end of January, Song Tao, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, went to Xiamen to express condolences to Taiwan compatriots who went to and from Xiamen and Jinan via the "miniature three links".

The mainland's aviation authorities recently expressed the hope that Taiwan will give priority to resuming the 16 cross-strait direct flight destinations. Zhu Fenglian introduced the destinations involved in detail on the 8th, and pointed out that more destinations will be promoted to resume flights.

Zhu Fenglian said that compatriots on both sides of the strait have a strong desire to realize normal exchanges and exchanges, and the mainland attaches great importance to it and has made comprehensive preparations for it.

Using the epidemic as an excuse to block cross-strait exchanges goes against public opinion and is unpopular.

  How to reflect sincerity?

In terms of medical treatment, Zhu Fenglian introduced the incident of a Taiwanese girl going to the mainland for medical treatment, which has aroused great concern in the island, and explained in detail how the mainland's medical insurance system protects the health of Taiwan compatriots; in terms of housing, she pointed out that the mainland has continuously introduced policies for buying and renting houses, and strives to create a safe place to live. Conditions; Regarding schooling, Zhu Fenglian mentioned the enrollment of mainland colleges and universities in the new academic year, and Taiwan students are welcome to apply for the exam; as for employment and entrepreneurship, the press conference is the "platform" of the newly approved nine cross-strait exchange bases.

Xia Liyan, vice chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang, led a delegation to visit the mainland on February 8. Several reporters asked about the itinerary.

Zhu Fenglian made an introduction and fought back against the DPP's false accusations.

Regarding Master Hsing Yun's passing away, Zhu Fenglian said that she sincerely hopes that the Taiwanese Buddhist circles and believers will uphold Master Hsing Yun's behest, continue to promote cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, and help the peaceful development of cross-strait relations.

She also expressed her condolences to the famous Taiwanese scholar Zhu Yunhan who passed away due to illness recently, and extended condolences to his family.

In response to the recent remarks by the top management of the DPP authorities and the new chairman of the party concerning cross-strait relations, Zhu Fenglian believes that "the relevant statements are very bad."

She also pointed out that what the DPP authorities have done runs counter to the mainstream public opinion on the island that wants peace, development, exchanges, and cooperation.

Some American politicians recently made new remarks on arms sales to Taiwan. Zhu Fenglian urged them to abide by the serious commitments made by the United States on Taiwan-related issues.

She said that the majority of Taiwan compatriots have clearly realized that choosing "Taiwan independence" means choosing war.

In addition, the mainland has registered or updated the registration information of 63 Taiwanese food companies that meet the requirements, such as Kinmen Winery.

Regarding the facilitation of Taiwan's food imports to the mainland, Zhu Fenglian said that she is willing to continue to work with relevant parties on the island to help solve specific problems.

As for other Taiwan-funded enterprises encountering contract disputes, she said that the mainland will protect the legitimate rights and interests of all market players in accordance with the law.
