China News Service, Shanghai, February 8th (Zheng Yingying, Ma Shuisha) According to the news released by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation on the evening of the 7th, the development of the 04th batch of Fengyun-3 satellite projects has officially started.

After more than 50 years of development, China has successfully completed the development of two generations of four-type 19 Fengyun meteorological satellites, achieving a leap from following to running side by side to partial leadership, and a series of long-life, high-reliability, high-precision, and full-quantity satellites Its overall strength ranks among the international advanced ranks.

China is one of the few countries in the world that has both polar and geostationary weather satellites.

In China's "Fengyun satellite family", Fengyun-1 and Fengyun-3 are polar orbiting meteorological satellites, which can obtain global observation data; Fengyun-2 and Fengyun-4 are geostationary meteorological satellites, which are relatively stationary relative to the earth and can obtain Continuous dynamic observation data of China and surrounding areas.

Among them, Fengyun-3 satellite has realized the three-star network business observation capability of "morning orbit + afternoon orbit + morning and evening orbit" for the first time in the world.

The 04th batch of Fengyun-3 satellites is the final work of China's second-generation low-orbit meteorological satellites. It includes an inclined orbit precipitation measurement satellite and a sun-synchronous morning and evening orbit satellite, which will further enhance the load detection capability and platform service support capability. It will also cooperate with high-orbit meteorological satellites to realize the on-orbit verification of high-low orbit coordinated observation for the first time, and support the smart observation and system development of the third-generation meteorological satellites.
