“Very gradually, but more and more noticeably, the attitude in the United States towards the actual participation in the military conflict in Ukraine is changing,” he wrote on Telegram.

Pushkov emphasized that until recently it would have been impossible to present an article in The New York Times that would criticize the thesis that the United States would replace Ukraine "as Russia's main enemy on the battlefield."

He noted that in Washington there is a "gap between the interests of the US ruling elite and the true interests of the American nation."

Earlier, US leader Joe Biden called the special military operation in Ukraine a "test of the ages" for the United States and the world.

On Feb. 7, Bloomberg reported that Washington was refusing to send the US military to the war zone in Ukraine because of fears that this could provoke the “anger” of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
