After the Social Democrats in Botkyrka last week voted to nominate Ebba Östlin, chairperson of the municipal board for many years, as the party's local leader, there has been a real uproar within the municipality.

Few have wanted to talk about it, but now Robert Aslan (S), chairman of the cultural and leisure committee in Botkyrka municipality, speaks out on his Facebook:

"Ebba Östlin has been our KSO for 7 years.

She has led our municipality through a refugee crisis, pandemic, garbage fires and the fight against organized crime.

When others backed down, she stayed behind and made sure that Botkyrka went forward stronger every year."

Struggle within the party

The vote on Ebba Östlin has led to an infected battle within the party.

One group says that it was about Östlin's leadership.

While those who voted for her instead believe that it is about criticizing the closure of several holiday parks, which were run by ABF.

It is also about criminals having influenced the voting.

Robert Aslan writes in a comment to SVT regarding the post:

- There is probably no one who has missed the enormous support that exists for Ebba Östlin and that has flowed in from all over the country.

And the support is even greater here at home in Botkyrka.

We in Norsborg's social democratic board are very happy that she accepted the nomination.

In addition to being a politician, Robert Aslan is the national coordinator at ABF.
