Laholm's food waste was previously sent to Halmstad to be pre-treated and then sent back to Laholm biogas.

That is no longer the case.

- We lost Laholm in a procurement, Denmark has more favorable tax rules for biogas, says Milan Lazic at Halmstad energy and environment.

On the other hand, Halmstad residents' food waste becomes biogas in Laholm.
