The American non-governmental company "Maxar" published satellite images showing the effects of the devastating earthquake that recently struck southeastern Turkey and northwestern Syria.

The images revealed the great damage and destruction of many homes in the affected Turkish cities, in addition to the relief and rescue work being carried out by various teams.

It is noteworthy that the clouds covering the area prevent taking pictures of many of the affected areas.

In turn, the "Planet" company published a satellite image taken on Tuesday, which showed the great damage to the residents' homes in the center of the city of Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the devastating earthquake.

This SkySat image captured today, Feb 7, 2023, shows major damage in central Kahramanmaraş, #Turkey in the aftermath of yesterday's #earthquake.

We'll continue to share updates on #satelliteimagery as it is collected.

Because of the earthquake, families in northern Syria and southern Turkey spent a second night in the bitter cold today, Wednesday, while rescue workers race against time to pull people out of the rubble two days after a devastating earthquake killed more than 9,600 people.

Many slept in their cars or in the streets, covered in blankets, lest they return to buildings shaken by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake on Monday, the worst in Turkey since 1999.

Rescuers in Turkey and neighboring Syria warned the death toll would continue to rise, and survivors said no aid had yet arrived.
