The head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, arrived at the head of a delegation from the movement to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to hold talks with the Egyptian leadership regarding several developments and developments related to the Palestinian cause.

The delegation includes Saleh Al-Arouri, the deputy head of the movement, the head of the movement abroad, Khaled Mushghal, the head of the Arab and Islamic Relations Office, Khalil Al-Hayyah, and a member of the political bureau of the movement, Ruhi Mushtaha.

A statement by the movement said that the delegation will discuss the dangerous measures taken by the occupation in the city of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, "the escalation of terrorism against our people, assassinations against citizens, the state of siege in the Strip, ways to deal with these developments, and what the current extremist government in Tel Aviv is planning."

A member of the movement's leadership outside Palestine, Ali Baraka, had said earlier that the movement's delegation would hold meetings with Egyptian officials, most notably the head of the intelligence service, Abbas Kamel.

He also mentioned that the delegation will discuss a number of files with the Egyptians, including the continuous Israeli occupation aggression in the city of Jerusalem and the West Bank, and the accompanying continuous killings.

The arrival of the Hamas delegation coincided with the Islamic Jihad movement's announcement that a delegation headed by its Secretary-General Ziyad al-Nakhala concluded a visit to Egypt that had begun on Friday evening, during which they met with Abbas Kamel, where they discussed field developments in the Palestinian arena and the reconciliation file, according to a statement by the Islamic Jihad movement.
