Pictures of prominent places in Syria and Turkey - before and after the Kahramanmaraş earthquake - showed the extent of destruction and damage to those areas.

Communication platforms and Turkish media circulated video scenes of the damage to the historic castle in Gaziantep, as several walls of the castle, which dates back to about two thousand years, collapsed.

In Malatya (south of the country), social media accounts documented the complete collapse of the walls of the "Yeni Jameh" mosque, as a result of the earthquake that struck the city.

In the state of Hatay, specifically in the city of Iskenderun, the Catholic Church of the Annunciation, which was built more than 150 years ago, was damaged.

Also in Iskenderun, the earthquake caused great damage to commercial and residential buildings, as shown in the picture.

As for northwestern Syria, two pictures from the town of Busina, near the city of Harem, show the extent of the damage caused by this earthquake.
