Columnist Brooke Sample quotes agency columnist Hol Brands as saying that the US is currently helping Kyiv because it fears a prolonged conflict of attrition in Ukraine that will test international relations.
Brands also says that Biden refuses to send American troops into the war zone, not wanting to "further anger Putin."
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at a thematic conference call that the United States and its allies are trying to prolong the conflict in Ukraine as much as possible.
In addition, he said that Russian groupings of troops continue to grind weapons and equipment that Western countries supply to Ukraine.
