Pinturault obtained his sixth planetary individual medal, his second in gold in this discipline after that gleaned in Are (Sweden) in 2019, and ideally launched the world fortnight of the France team.
In difficulty for two years, the tricolor leader thwarted the odds at home in front of the French supporters, by achieving the best time in the first round (super-G), before resisting the Austrian Marco Schwarz in the second ( slalom).
Schwarz had deprived "Pintu" of gold two years ago at the Worlds in Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy) for only four hundredths.
There were ten this time, in favor of the Frenchman.
Behind this duo, another Austrian, Raphael Haaser, took the bronze medal, 44 hundredths behind Pinturault.
The victory is all the more beautiful for the 31-year-old skier as it comes in a difficult season, during which he only climbed on a World Cup podium once.
But once again, Pinturault was able to perform well in a major event, further embellishing the greatest record of French skiing, topped with 34 World Cup victories, three Olympic medals and, therefore, six individual world medals.
