While Airbus aims to produce 65 single-aisle A320 Family aircraft per month in 2024, it was only able to hand over 16 to customers in January, along with two A220s, one long-haul A330 and one A350.

January is traditionally one of the least active months of the year in terms of deliveries, but this time they are far from their level of 2019 (39 aircraft) or even last year (30 aircraft).

They are also lower than those of January 2021 (21 devices).

Deliveries are a reliable indicator of profitability in aerospace, as customers pay most of the bill when they take possession of the planes.

Last year, the European giant had to give up its initial objective of delivering 720 aircraft over the year and had only been able to deliver 661 aircraft to its customers due to the difficulties of subcontractors weakened by the pandemic. to step up.

Its objectives for 2023 have not yet been revealed.

Airbus also booked 36 new orders in January, including twelve additional A220s for the American company Delta Airlines as well as twelve A320s and A321s for Uzbekistan Airways.
