A Turkish man who runs a restaurant in Okayama City is worried about the safety of his family and friends, and is asking for food and clothing assistance after the earthquake near the Syrian border in southern Turkey. .

Yilmaz Mehamet Ali (36), who runs a Turkish restaurant in Yanagimachi, Kita Ward, Okayama City, is asking for help.

I came to Japan 11 years ago for her marriage.

She is from Gaziantep, in southern Turkey, near the epicenter of the earthquake. Immediately after the earthquake, she contacted her parents and siblings living there and confirmed that everyone was safe.

In the surrounding area, buildings collapsed, and people who were trapped under them died, causing great damage.

Due to the danger of further collapse due to the accumulation of snow, many people are waiting in their cars to avoid the cold and not enter the building for 48 hours after the earthquake.

Yilmaz called her sister again on the afternoon of the 7th, and she said that she could not evacuate as much as she wanted because the road had caved in.

Yilmaz said, "I was surprised because I've never been to a place where there's been a big earthquake. The building is in a situation where you can't go anywhere, and I've heard from my family that they were so scared that they thought the world was ending. My family is safe." However, I can't contact my friends, and it's frustrating that I can't do anything because I'm worried. It's cold there, and now I need clothes and food, so I'd appreciate a lot of support."
