In March last year, Berivan Alcén Hidalgo decided to go down to Poland and help the Ukrainian refugees who wanted to get to Sweden.

One of those who came to Sweden was 21-year-old Aleksandra, who also became a resident with Berivan and her family.

- She is like part of the family now.

Food costs increased by 3,000

But the recent increase in food and electricity prices has made Berivan and her family feel that it has become more difficult to help Aleksandra in the way they want.

- Food costs alone have increased by SEK 3,000 for us.

It has become a few thousand extra every month.

Now it doesn't work anymore.

The electricity bill that arrived in December prompted the Alcén Hidalgo family to make the decision.

- My mother lives in an apartment with a fixed electricity price and Aleksandra is also close to my mother.

The Swedish Migration Agency helps

There are no figures on how many private individuals are now forced to let the Ukrainian residents move.

According to the Swedish Migration Agency, refugees can apply to the agency for help with housing.
