“At the moment, 2,379 people have died and 14,483 people have been injured as a result of earthquakes,” RIA Novosti reports.

Oktay added that 7,840 people were rescued from the rubble.

Earlier, Orhan Tatar, Director General of the Earthquake and Risk Mitigation Department of the Emergency Management Department (AFAD), reported 2,316 dead and 13,293 injured as a result of the earthquake in Turkey.
