This Tuesday, Météo-France placed the Pyrénées-Orientales department on orange alert "snow-ice".

The weather will improve rapidly in the east at the end of the morning.

Over the rest of the country, the fogs will disintegrate quickly in the morning, and will give way to largely sunny weather.

Over Corsica, the PACA region, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Languedoc-Roussillon, the sky will be overcast and rainy from the early hours, forecasts Météo-France for Tuesday.

At 4 p.m., Météo-France placed the Pyrénées-Orientales department on Orange Neige-Verglas vigilance.

It will snow from 600 to 700 m in the Alps and southern Corsica, and 400 to 500 m in the Massif Central and the Cévennes.

A few snowflakes will fall temporarily as far as the lower Rhône valley.

The weather will improve rapidly in the east at the end of the morning.

On the other hand, in the afternoon, these precipitations will linger on the departments of Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales.

The snow will invite itself up to 200 m altitude in the west of the Pyrénées-Orientales and around 400 m in the Aude.

This snowfall will become moderate to fairly heavy and continue through early evening to low elevations.

Sunny weather across the rest of the country

Over the rest of the country, the fogs will disintegrate quickly in the morning, and will give way to largely sunny weather.

The easterly wind will remain strong on the entire Mediterranean coast with gusts between 70 and 80 km/h but will even reach up to 90 to 100 km/h towards the Var coast.

Note that the Autan wind will also strengthen.

The frosts will be almost generalized but will remain weak.

The minimums will remain positive by the sea. The maximums will be around 5 to 8 degrees over the northern two-thirds of the country and 7 to 10 degrees elsewhere, up to 11 to 13 degrees towards the French Riviera. .
