On March 6, 2022, a 25-year-old man was shot dead on a bicycle path by Ängöleden.

A 27-year-old man with connections to the criminal network "Norrlidengänget" was charged at the end of January this year on suspicion of the murder.

- We believe that it is revenge for the murder that took place on Kvarnholmen on February 11, 2022, says prosecutor Kjell Jannesson.

Death threats from prison

The 27-year-old, together with two other men, is also suspected of the shootings on Proviantgatan and Värsnärsvägen in Kalmar, which occurred before the fatal shooting on Ängöleden.

But it is only the 27-year-old who is suspected of the murder.

- We know that he was terribly upset after the first fatal shooting.

He explicitly told the staff during an interrogation that he will kill whoever did it, says Kjell Jannesson.

The prosecutor has "good evidence"

The prosecutor's main evidence is, in addition to a seized electric bicycle, also the suspected murder weapon - although it has never been found.

- We know that it is the same weapon that was used in all three individual shootings.

We can see that on the casings, and it's also the same ammunition.

It is good evidence, says prosecutor Kjell Jannesson.

The 27-year-old himself denies any crime, according to the preliminary investigation.

The same applies to the two other men who have also been charged, for the two other shootings.
