It is one of the largest monthly increases that has occurred since food inflation took off sharply in January last year, according to the Food Price Survey's statistics published on Monday.

By comparison, prices rose more in the past month than they did in all of 2021.

Among the biggest increases noted by Matpriskollen in stores during January are Garant granulated sugar 750g (+44%), gluten-free macaroni from Ica (+33%) and Tomato juice Premier (+40%).
