The study will examine hybrid work – the combination of remote and office work – at Örnsköldsvik municipality, an organization that has already been the subject of research.

In 2014, Umeå researchers followed the municipality's change of city hall, when they partially switched to activity-based offices.

- We have followed them since before and have good data on how it looked then, says Viktoria Wahlström.

Studying the combination

This time it is therefore about how hybrid work affects the work environment - this applies both physically and psychosocially.

The researchers can already state that computer ergonomics have been problematic when working from home during the pandemic and that this also applies to hybrid work, where you have shared workplaces.

In the clip, Viktoria Wahlström tells more about hybrid work and what they already know about the effects on the work environment.
