  Master Hsing Yun had a deep relationship with Xiamen, and he came to Xiamen many times to participate in activities during his lifetime.

Among his many acquaintances with Xiamen, reporters from China News Agency witnessed three of them.

  Nanputuo Temple, located at the foot of the Wulao Peak in the southeast of Xiamen City, was built in the late Tang Dynasty. It is one of the Buddhist resorts in southern Fujian and a center of Buddhist exchanges at home and abroad.

Minnan Buddhist Academy, located on the side of Nanputuo Temple, was founded in 1925. It is the earliest Buddhist institution in mainland China and has a long-standing reputation at home and abroad.

  Master Hsing Yun once said that his childhood idol was Master Taixu, the abbot of the "Millennium Ancient Temple" Nanputuo Temple and the president of Minnan Buddhist Academy. Most of his teachers when he became a monk were graduates of Minnan Buddhist Academy in South Putuo.

  In July 2003, Master Hsing Yun was invited to Nanputuo Temple in Xiamen to participate in a big Dharma conference on world peace and blessings in the cross-strait and Hong Kong and Macau Buddhist circles, and attended a seminar on Buddhism and the opening ceremony of the Institute of Religion at Xiamen University.

  In April 2011, during the 90th anniversary celebration of Xiamen University, celebrities from all walks of life, including Master Xingyun, famous scholar and writer Liu Zaifu who lived overseas for many years, were invited to attend the "Into the Master" series of lectures in the school celebration forum .

This trip is Master Xingyun's second visit to Xiamen, where he discussed "the relationship between emptiness and existence" in the Jiannan Auditorium of Xiamen University.

Master Hsing Yun's speeches are profound and simple, with examples at his fingertips, supplemented by scriptures and short Buddhist stories, integrating profound philosophy into simple words, and the wisdom of Zen enlightenment is self-evident.

Master Hsing Yun also answered the audience's questions humorously during the interactive session, and some of them were deeply impressed by Buddhist principles.

  In April 2014, the 87-year-old master Xingyun came to Xiamen for the third time to participate in the 93rd anniversary celebration of Xiamen University.

He delivered a speech titled "Seeing the Power of Dreams" in the Auditorium of Jiannan University, Xiamen University, and shared his Buddhist wisdom related to dreams with teachers and students.

  In my memory, the auditorium of Jiannan University reproduced the full-blown speech of Master Xingyun during the 90th anniversary celebration. More than 3,000 listeners braved the drizzle to listen to the "public class" taught by the master in a wheelchair.

This is one of the activities to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of Xiamen University.

  In this speech, Master Hsing Yun once again mentioned the deep karma between himself and Xiamen. He said that it was the rice water nourishment in Xiamen that grew me through Buddhism.

  During this trip, "Master Xingyun's One-Stroke Calligraphy Exhibition" opened at the Xiamen Museum at the same time, displaying the master's wonderful calligraphy and exquisite ceramics made of calligraphy.
