• Coalition The PSOE breaks with Irene Montero and presents the reform of the 'yes is yes' alone

  • Politics The PP will support the reform of the PSOE of the law of 'only yes is yes' if it does not contain "any botch"

The correction of the

law of the

only yes is yes

unleashes a battle between the partners of the Government.

Podemos goes on the offensive against the PSOE for its "unilateral" reform proposal and conspires to overthrow it in Congress on a front with the investiture partners, such as EH Bildu or ERC.

In addition, the

purple

party declares itself willing to act "as necessary" to prevent the Socialists from carrying out their changes.

This declaration of intent leads to a frontal clash in Congress and an attempt by Podemos to isolate the PSOE and push it to have to use the PP to approve the reform if it wants to win the fight against Irene Montero.

All while the verbal escalation of the last days grows in intensity.

The accusation now is that the PSOE wants to "return to the Penal Code of La Manada", confronting the socialist proposal with the feminist wave that rose up against the first sentence, before it was corrected by the Supreme Court.

"Our obligation now goes through defending consent as the center of

the Criminal Code

and if we have to do it in the parliamentary process we will do it again," warned the co-spokesperson for Podemos,

María Teresa Pérez

, who explained that the socialist proposal takes it ahead because it imposes a model based on violence and intimidation and that will force women to "prove" again that they have resisted sexual assault in order to convict the culprits.

Podemos displays his anger.

He dismisses the socialist proposal as "unacceptable", "intolerable" and "incomprehensible" and reproaches him for having despised the proposals made by the

Ministry of Equality

that safeguarded consent as the "center" of the law.

Silence on the role of Yolanda Díaz

The pulse will be transferred to Congress in the following days and there Podemos wants to make a common front to stop the PSOE.

First, with the entire space of Unidas Podemos, where he says there is unity, and then with the majority of the Executive's parliamentary partners, whom he summons in this crusade to "protect" consent and, with it, "defend the rights of women".

Podemos dismisses the space unit of United We Can with a "we all agree" but avoids delving into it when asked for details about the role of Yolanda Díaz in the negotiations of recent months.

Despite repeated questions about the alleged mediation between the PSOE and Podemos, Pérez has refused to respond or acknowledge any involvement with the vice president.

"We are all centered in a unitary way within our space in defending consent as the center of the norm", he has dispatched despite the insistence of the questions.

Iglesias against Sánchez

The most combative of this Monday has been Pablo Iglesias.

The former general secretary of Podemos has accused Pedro Sánchez of making a mistake "by letting his legs shake" with the

law of only yes is yes

and has presented him as a president who has gone from enthusiastically vindicating the norm to letting himself be carried away by the pressure.

"This is a victory for the PP", he has ugly in an intervention in Rac1.

Iglesias has described his partner's position as a "very serious error" and has ruled that it implies "taking right-wing positions" that what it will cause is "facilitating" the right to win more autonomies, city councils and finally the Government.
