The material claims that the T-72 and T-80 tanks weigh about 45 tons, while the mass of the American M1A1 Abrams is between 67 and 74 tons.

“This affects which bridges vehicles can safely cross, and this, in turn, determines the future location and speed of maneuvers on the battlefield,” said military expert Michael Peck.

Military officer Frank Ledwidge emphasized that many Ukrainian bridges would not be able to support heavy Western tanks.

“Western allies will supply new equipment if necessary, but Russian military intelligence will benefit from the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ logistical solutions to bypass unsuitable bridges,” he said.

Earlier, the Czech edition of Lidovky reported that Western tanks may not reach the battles in Ukraine due to difficult logistics.
