In response to the dismissal of the Prime Minister's secretary for discriminatory remarks about same-sex marriage, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) decided not to submit the proposal to the Diet two years ago. I decided to consider it again.

On the afternoon of the 6th, Secretary-General Motegi of the Liberal Democratic Party met with General Affairs Chairman Endo and Policy Research Chairman Hagiuda at the LDP headquarters to discuss future responses to the dismissal of former Prime Minister Arai.

In this article, although the aim was to establish a bipartisan parliamentary federation two years ago, the LDP did not reach a consensus within the LDP, and the submission to the Diet was postponed. I confirmed the policy to proceed with the examination again.

There are growing calls from the New Komeito Party and opposition parties that the lawmakers' bill should be enacted as soon as possible.

At a press conference, Secretary-General Motegi said, "As the Liberal Democratic Party, we want to respect diversity, firmly work to create an inclusive society, and promote understanding of sexual orientation and gender identity. Although there are circumstances that did not lead to submission due to the schedule, we would like to continue preparations for submission."

Representative Izumi Ritsumin ``Same-sex marriage seeks the realization of selective married couples with different surnames''

Izumi, head of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan, told reporters, ``The parties are suffering and were greatly hurt by Arai's abusive words. I have to tell the government and the ruling parties once again that it is not enough to simply respect diversity and promote understanding."

Communist Secretary General Koike "Submit a bill on the responsibility of the government"

At a press conference, Koike, head of the Communist Party's secretariat, said, ``The bill was once headed for realization two years ago, but the conservatives within the Liberal Democratic Party obstructed it and set it aside. As the president of the party, I have a responsibility to realize it.Since Prime Minister Kishida himself said that 'discrimination and prejudice should not be allowed,' I would like to request that the government take responsibility and submit the bill to the Diet."
