If you look closely at her x-rays, you can see a lighter streak in the cervical spinal cord.

The pictures were taken when she sought treatment for a number of different symptoms that arose as she used nitrous oxide.

The light line shows that she suffered from a B12 deficiency, that her body was unable to absorb the vitamin, which is vital for, among other things, nerve functions and the formation of blood.

- It was lucky that she stopped before it got even worse, says chief physician Per-David Alm, who together with a colleague received Klara at the hospital.

After Klara, whose real name is something else, stopped taking nitrous oxide and at the same time received regular injections of B12, her nerves were able to heal.

Today she is symptom free.

Per-David Alm emphasizes that it takes different individuals a different amount of time to suffer injuries as a result of nitrous oxide.

Even small amounts of nitrous oxide can lead to permanent damage in some people.

- It can depend on a number of other factors, such as, for example, what kind of diet you ate.

In the clip, SVT accompanies Klara to the neurology clinic where she was treated for her nitrous oxide injuries.
