Reports confirmed that Twitter wants to make money from companies on the platform, by charging a fee of $1,000 per month to maintain the golden authentication mark.

According to The Information, brands that do not pay the monthly fee will lose the golden authentication mark, but it is not clear when this will happen.

And internal messages - seen by this site - reveal that Twitter will charge an additional fee of $ 50 per month to add authentication tags to each account affiliated with the company.

This report corresponds with a screenshot posted by social media consultant Matt Navarra, revealing what appears to be an email between Twitter's product manager, Evan Jones, and an unnamed company.

The message reads, “As an Early Access subscriber, you will receive a gold Verified for organizations badge for your organization and the affiliation tags for affiliates. If you wish to subscribe, the Verified for organizations (fee) is $1,000 per month, and $50 per affiliate account per month with One month free offer for affiliate accounts.

Twitter had introduced gold verification tags before the “Verification for Business” program - formerly known as Blue for Business - which allows companies to verify and identify themselves on Twitter, and it also allows companies to add tags that display reduced versions of their Twitter profile pictures. To accounts belonging to employees, executives, and anyone else associated with the Brand.

Twitter, which launched early access to the enterprise documentation program last month, has not officially disclosed any information regarding the enterprise monthly subscription fee.

The expensive subscription is just one of many changes CEO Elon Musk has implemented in an effort to boost revenue and reduce Twitter's $12.5 billion debt.

In addition to the mass layoffs, Musk has begun charging users starting at $8 per month for the blue verification mark, and will soon begin forcing developers to pay for access to the Twitter API after their apps were banned from the platform last month.
