Electricity consumption at Trollabadet in Glimåkra has dropped by 80 percent.

Overall, Östra Göinge municipality has reduced its electricity consumption by 35 percent, if you compare 2022 with 2012.

One of the measures taken is to replace electric boilers with heat pumps.

- Then you reduce the cost by perhaps 75 percent in that property.

We have bought heat pumps for a lot of money - but they pay for themselves quite quickly too, says Tomas Wijk, property manager at the municipality.

SEK 44 million invested

Thomas Wijk explains the large reduction in electricity consumption at Trollabadet as follows:

- There was an old electric boiler there that heated the water.

Now there are two heat pumps and we have rebuilt the system for water purification.

Östra Göinge municipality has made investments worth SEK 44 million - but the measures should have paid off by 2026. So far, the calculation seems to hold, according to the municipality.
