According to him, at the talks, Kyiv demanded that Moscow allow it to secure security guarantees from the United States, France and other countries, but Russia opposed it out of fear of possible alliances similar to NATO.

Then Bennett proposed to Zelensky the “Israeli model”, which implies a powerful independent army instead of a “history with guarantees”.

According to the Israeli prime minister, the proposal was approved by both Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“It was a real conceptual breakthrough, which they both agreed to,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Bennett, who served as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine, said that negotiations to resolve the conflict were interrupted by Western countries.

According to him, during the talks in Istanbul, Russia and Ukraine prepared up to 18 draft drafts of the agreement.
