Today, Sunday, the Israeli army announced that it had detected "non-rocket-fired" fire from the Gaza Strip, after warning sirens sounded.

The army said in a statement, seen by Anadolu Agency: The sirens were activated as a result of non-rocket fire from the Gaza Strip at Israel, without further details about the nature of these fires.

The statement added: According to the army's interception policy, no interceptor missiles (the Iron Dome system) were launched.

Before the army's statement was issued, Israeli media outlets, including private newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, reported that sirens sounded in the city of Sderot and the Sha'ar Negev region in southern Israel.

None of the armed factions in the Gaza Strip has claimed responsibility for any shooting attack towards Israel until now.

On Saturday, the Israeli army announced the interception of a flying object in the sky of Gaza.
